Unpaved Road Tools
The Unpaved Road Material Design Tool is a web-based tool developed to guide the selection and/or blending of materials to meet a performance-based specification; it helps you select or blend aggregate materials for engineered unpaved roads—enter layer types and lab results, and it provides a starting blend aligned with performance-based guidance. The tool aims to eliminate trial and error by providing a more accurate starting blend that can then be refined for optimal performance in a given application. The companion Unpaved Road Chemical Treatment Selection Tool recommends dust control or stabilization treatment families (e.g., chlorides, lignins, emulsions) based on traffic, climate, fines/PI, and road geometry, implementing the procedure from UCPRC’s guideline (an update of the 1999 USFS approach). Both are offered as freeware (support not provided) and are intended to guide, not replace, engineering judgment.

MultiCool
MultiCool is a free software program that enables the user to calculate the temperature profile of multilayer asphalt hot mix pavements under a variety of environmental conditions and timing constraints. The download file is a self-extracting archive containing a help file, an executable file, and a data file. Note that MultiCool is freeware and that UCPRC does not provide support for it.
